With all the frigid temperatures lately, Hearty Homemade Chili is a savory option for a winter supper, and you may even have leftovers for a quick lunch! Most of my recipes are super simple, and this one is no different.
Combine the ingredients below into a large pot and simmer until ready to eat, or cook in the slow cooker! Garnish with sour cream and cheese and serve with buttered or cheese toast.
Hearty Homemade Chili Ingredients:
32 oz. carton chicken broth
2 large cans of tomatoes
2 cans of pinto beans
2 cans of dark red kidney beans
2 tbsp. chili powder
½ tbsp. garlic powder
½ tbsp. garlic salt
½ tbsp. onion powder
½ tbsp. paprika
2 lbs. ground beef (browned)
sour cream and cheese
Heart-Healthier Ground Beef
Spaghetti, Lasagna, Chili, Tacos... I use ground beef in so many family recipes, but I always get a little heart conscious when I see all that grease. I try to purchase 93/7 ground beef, but when I buy 80/20, I definitely rinse the beef. In this video I’m sharing a quick tutorial for preparing heart-healthier ground beef!
