The Inn at Apple Valley, formerly known as Comfort Inn™ Apple Valley, is now part of the Choice Hotels® Ascend® Hotel Collection. Please also read my first review of this property, Christmas in the Smokies at Comfort Inn™ Apple Valley.
My family recently traveled to the Great Smoky Mountains en route to visit with family for the Thanksgiving holidays. While in the Pigeon Forge/Sevierville area, we were blessed by accommodations at The Inn at Apple Valley. We spent a couple nights at this lovely hotel several years ago, and the experience was even more delightful during our recent visit.
When visiting The Inn at Apple Valley, it is easy to understand why the hotel boasts numerous awards and certificates of excellence. From the hotel receptionists to the room attendants, the staff are professional and accommodating in every way. The manager, Mr. Jarrod Wilson, is involved in the hotel’s daily operations and genuinely cares about the guest experience.
The Inn at Apple Valley Check-in
First impressions are always positive when arriving on the grounds at The Inn at Apple Valley. Even though the facility has been in operation since the summer of 1991, both the indoor facilities and the grounds are immaculately kept and beautifully landscaped.
The outside grounds were decorated with all kinds of Christmas decorations including Santa and his reindeer, nutcrackers, and a cute Christmas truck. The indoor decorations were just as amazing with a beautiful Christmas tree hosting an impressive nativity and a warm fireplace.
The hotel receptionist was friendly upon my entrance into the hotel. He made sure I was aware of all the typical hotel amenities such as breakfast times, WIFI passwords, and location of the indoor elevators. He provided me with a parking pass for my vehicle to remain on location.
After securing our room keycards, we unloaded all our suitcases and used the elevator to take us to Room 238. My family does not know how to travel lightly, especially when we are away from home for several days, but the hotel room more than accommodated our four large suitcases, two violins, snacks, coats, and a few other odds and ends!
Hotel cleanliness is always top priority for me, and it is the same for The Inn at Apple Valley. The entire hotel smells like fresh apples, obviously appropriate for the hotel name!
The Inn at Apple Valley Two Queen Beds, One Room Suite with Patio
Our hotel room was more than spacious for our family of four. We had plenty of room to eat our subs in the sitting area and even had enough floor space for some indoor exercise after traveling.
Our room was decorated with neutral décor, and I love the recent addition of LVP flooring in the rooms. Hard flooring is more sanitary in the rooms than carpeting for cleaning purposes. The hotel is in the process of updates to the property, and new carpet has recently been installed in the hallways. They are waiting on new draperies, along with new sofa sleepers, chairs, and ottomans, all arriving in the coming weeks. Elevator updating is also in progress. While these updates will be an improvement and a refresh for the hotel, our room and accommodations were lovely and sufficient, and the remodeling did nothing to detract from our stay. It wasn’t even obvious that the hotel is in the process of renovations, so it receives an A+ for accommodating even during a remodel!
The large wardrobe-style closet gave us room to hang our clothes and tuck away extra bags, coats, and shoes. We also appreciated the ottoman-style piece of furniture that we used as a luggage rack. I love when hotels provide a place to keep luggage off the floor. While the hotel is not a newly built hotel, it is pristinely maintained. Not only were the bathrooms sparkling clean, but even the grout and caulking were well-kept. We were provided with plenty of plush bath towels, cloths, and traditional hotel toiletries.
In addition to the large sink/mirror vanity in the bathroom, there is an additional sink with mirror in the room right outside the bathroom. It was the perfect spot to dry and style my hair and apply makeup for the day. This feature is definitely convenient for families.
Additional Hotel Amenities and Breakfast at The Inn at Apple Valley
Each room at The Inn at Apple Valley includes a private balcony/patio, Wi-Fi, a 32-inch flat panel TV with great channels, a mini fridge, and a microwave.
The hotel has both an indoor and outdoor pool, plus a hot tub. My children loved the pool, and the hot tub was warm and relaxing on a cold night after traveling. The pool facilities are clean and well maintained, and pool towels are provided on-site. Outdoor seating areas with rockers as well as a cozy firepit make for lovely ambiance nearby the outdoor pool.
Hot apple cider, coffee, and teas are offered 24 hours right inside the lobby near the firepit and outdoor seating areas. Ice machines are also available on location, so if cold apple cider is a preference, just add ice!
One of our favorite parts of our second visit to The Inn at Apple Valley was the amazing complimentary breakfast, served hot each morning! Choices include homemade waffles, eggs, sausage, fruit, yogurt, cereals, oatmeal, and biscuits with gravy. Milk, coffee, juices, and hot chocolate are all offered in the nicely-sized breakfast café. It’s the perfect spot to begin the day with family or friends.
Location is key, and The Inn at Apple Valley is centrally located to all the main attractions in the area. It is a reasonably priced hotel that exceeds expectations. Thank you once again for an amazing visit to The Inn at Apple Valley.
