With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, blogs and social media are buzzing with free printables, tasty desserts, and crafts galore! Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays partly because I love the colors pink and red.
I used to have an addiction to those little conversation hearts candies but try to be good most of the time (not always!). By the way, I don’t like the ones that are crunchy. The perfect conversation heart is slightly soft, but still a hard candy. I can never remember which brand is the best!
At Christmastime I enjoy making Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars. They are super easy to make, and everyone always loves them. They are the perfect snack for piano recital receptions, Christmas goodie bags, and fellowships, and are a quick dessert when hosting a meal at home.
The recipe for chocolate chip cookie bars calls for mostly the same ingredients as the strawberry and white chocolate cookie bars with the exception of the cake mix and the chocolate chips. Click the link above for two secret flavorings I add to my chocolate chip cookie bars!
Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars = yellow cake mix + milk chocolate chips
Strawberry and White Chocolate Cookie Bars = strawberry cake mix + white chocolate chips
I have also seen other combinations of cake mix cookie bars where the recipe calls for a chocolate cake mix and peppermint chips or a red velvet cake mix with white chocolate chips. I guess the options are endless if you have a cake mix, chocolate chips, water, oil, and eggs on hand!
Ingredients for Strawberry and White Chocolate Cookie Bars:
1 egg
½ cup oil
¼ cup water
strawberry cake mix (The brand in the link is my favorite!)
1 cup white chocolate chips
Strawberry and White Chocolate Cookie Bars Recipe Directions:
1. Mix the egg, oil, and water together in a large mixing bowl.
2. Add the strawberry cake mix and stir until all ingredients are mixed well. Stir in white chocolate chips.
3. Place the cookie bar mixture in a baking pan sprayed with baking spray. I use a 9x13 glass baking dish.
4. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 18-20 minutes.
5. Allow the cookie to cool and cut into squares.
This recipe is so simple, even a child can make it with a little help from mom or dad! These strawberry and white chocolate cookie bars are so cute in valentine bags and can be given with a valentine card attached. They make great teacher gifts too!
