Sometimes it’s difficult to find the perfect centerpiece for a kitchen table or some other focal point that needs a bit of décor.
Holidays are always a fun time of year to decorate, but finding décor for the patriotic holidays that is classic, stylish, and on trend can be challenging.
Let’s face it, some patriotic décor is super cute, and a lot of it is just plain tacky!
Farmhouse style is definitely trendy right now. Go in any home store, and you will find it!
My home has a few farmhouse-styled pieces, along with classic traditional décor, primitive, and a tiny bit of modern. It’s an eclectic mix, but it’s home, and my family likes it!
Recently, I made some red, white, and blue farmhouse-styled wreaths and just totally loved how they turned out. You can see these wreaths with their blue and white toile rosettes at Red, White, and Blue Farmhouse Décor—A Patriotic Wreath Tutorial—Dollar Store Craft Challenge.
After I made the wreaths I remembered another idea that I had while shopping for my wreath supplies. Some diamond ribbon wrap with lots of bling had caught my eye along with some cute little mason jars.
I wasn’t totally sure what to do with my sketchy idea, but when I returned to the store on my second trip, the farmhouse style with a touch of bling came together!
I made this project for well under $15 and had lots of ribbon left over to make more of the same centerpieces or other patriotic craft projects. All items were purchased at the dollar store because it’s just a handy place to shop for things like ribbon, jars, and other crafty supplies.
Supplies for Patriotic Centerpiece with Farmhouse Style and a Touch of Bling:
hot glue gun and glue
3 glass mason jars (clear)
burlap ribbon with wire (2 in. x 108 in.)
red diamond wrap ribbon (0.6 in. x 9 ft.)
silver diamond wrap ribbon (0.6 in. x 9 ft.)
blue grosgrain ribbon (5/8 in. x 15 ft.)
3 battery-operated tea lights
3 bunches of white baby’s breath faux flowers
What to Do ~ Create Your Own Patriotic Centerpiece:
1. Cut burlap to proper lengths that will wrap around the jars and overlap slightly. Secure the burlap ribbon to the middle of the jar with hot glue. When the ends meet, fold one end over once to create a clean edge.
2. Now for the bling! Cut the diamond wrap ribbon to the exact length to wrap around the jars and meet. I did not overlap this ribbon. Glue the silver diamond wrap to the top edge and the red diamond wrap to the bottom edge of the burlap.
3. Make mini bows using the blue grosgrain ribbon and secure with hot glue between the silver and red diamond wrap ribbon.
4. Place one battery-operated tea light or white baby's breath faux flowers in each jar.
