Christmas is truly the most wonderful time of year for so many reasons. My family loves celebrating Jesus’s birth, attending holiday events, drinking hot cocoa, building gingerbread houses, decorating the tree, and all the other charming things that make Christmas a favorite holiday.
It’s always a little sad to me when Christmas is over and we pack all the pretty decorations away. The colors of Christmas make gray skies and rainy winter days a bit brighter, and when the decorations are gone, the house looks empty and cold!
Several years ago, I began a new post-Christmas tradition with my family that helps lift our spirits when it’s time to store away the Christmas decorations. We enjoy a simple family party and make the event fun rather than sad!

I’m somewhat of a minimalist with Christmas decorations and all home decorations for that matter. Our family’s storage space is limited, so I do my best to pare down decorations at the end of each year; however, packing up any amount of Christmas decorations is still time consuming!
