Accommodations: Residence Inn® or SpringHill Suites®
Hotel Address: 200 E Washington St. Suite A, Greenville, SC 29601
Greenville, South Carolina has a lovely downtown filled with many attractions for families. Greenville Downtown draws numerous visitors each year and has been rated as one of the top places to live in the southeastern U.S.
Occasionally, my family has opportunity to visit the Greenville area, and thankfully, Greenville Downtown provides various hotel venues for overnight accommodations.
Recently, we were accommodated by a very out-of-the-box luxury hotel that has been named Greenville’s first dual-branded hotel.
Residence Inn® and SpringHill Suites® are two Marriott® hotels under one roof with joint dynamic amenities for all hotel guests of Greenville Downtown to enjoy.
Our Experience at Greenville Downtown Luxury Hotel by Marriott®
Residence Inn® and SpringHill Suites® Greenville Downtown Shared Amenities
-Gorgeous Front Desk: Friendly staff members are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We checked-in to the Residence Inn® around 10 p.m. The front desk was staffed with plenty of professionally dressed hotel employees ready to assist us. The gentleman who helped my family informed us about the complimentary breakfast, directed us to the elevators, and made the check-in process quick and easy!
The elevators are activated with a guest’s personal room card. In fact, the elevator will not work until the card activates it. A sign in the elevator clearly explains this, but it took us a minute to figure this out.
This state-of-the-art Marriott® hotel in Greenville Downtown is the first hotel I have reviewed with this security feature. What a great safety feature to ensure only guests use the elevators!
-Welcoming Lobby Area: The more than spacious lobby features a nature theme with floor to ceiling windows that allow guests to enjoy the outdoors from the inside. The seating features a variety of plush couches, padded rockers, cozy leather swings, and more. The woodworking, lighting, and design all inspire imagination!
My family enjoyed relaxing in the lobby after breakfast. We could have sat in the fun swings all day! They were so comfy, and we just enjoyed the pleasant atmosphere of the lobby, not to mention the incredible smell of this luxury hotel!
Residence Inn® and SpringHill Suites® Greenville Downtown smelled so wonderful that I actually googled how hotels make their lobbies smell so inviting! Marriott’s featured hotel scent is Attune, and you can even buy candles or diffusers with cartridges to recreate the smell at home! Who would have known?!!! Marriott’s® “upscale signature scent” is described as “a fragrance that is inspiring, mysterious, and universal.” What a perfect description!
-Relaxing Outdoor Patio/Seating Area: With a fire pit, BBQ area, flat-screen TVs, pool, and plenty of seating for eating and relaxing, what more could you ask?!!
-Stylish Breakfast Area: The breakfast area is more than spacious and has lots of windows. I loved the open feel of the area. It almost felt like we were enjoying breakfast outside with all the conveniences of the indoors!
The complimentary breakfast buffet offers just about anything a guest would want for breakfast. My children enjoyed blueberry yogurt and waffles. We always have fun using the waffle makers at hotel breakfast buffets!
Many high-end, luxury hotels do not offer complimentary breakfast, so I was really impressed that this dual-branded hotel by Marriott® offers this convenience.
Other shared amenities include a business center, fitness center, market area, and complimentary bicycles for Downtown! With the spacious ballrooms and dining areas, these hotels are the perfect venue for hosting receptions, weddings, and both large and small events. A parking garage is right across the street, and valet parking is also available.
Residence Inn® Greenville Downtown by Marriott® | Hotel Room Review
My family’s room accommodations included a Studio Hotel with two queen beds and a sofa bed in the Residence Inn®.
The open floor plan, high ceilings, and neutral color scheme really set the tone for a relaxing atmosphere. The décor was very modern, and our room was more than comfortable.
The Kitchenette
Kitchen furnishings included a microwave, full-size refrigerator, and a dishwasher. The area included an amazing amount of counter space with seating, and the cabinets were stocked with plates, cups, flatware, a can opener, colander, baking dishes, cookware, and more.
The Mattresses
With two queens and a pull-out sleeper sofa, my little girl looked like a tiny princess in her big bed, and my son had a queen all to himself. We all slept well due to the comfort of the mattresses and the fresh bed linens. Hotel white sheets are just the best!
The Bathroom
The modern shower was the most spacious shower I have ever seen in a hotel. I loved the Paul Mitchell® soaps and shampoos that added an additional special touch of home. We were provided with plenty of towels, and the lighting was very pleasant.
Between the sleeping area and the bathroom was a little nook with a counter and mirror. It was perfect for dressing and applying makeup, and the extra space was nice for a family of four.
The Extras
TV, Wi-Fi, an iron/ironing board, and extra bed linens were all available in our room. In fact, I can’t think of anything our room was missing!
